Did you know?<\/strong> Our department operates primarily on the revenue generated through the sale of Hunting and Fishing Licenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Arizona Game and Fish Department does not receive monies from the Arizona State General Fund and operates primarily on the revenues generated through the sale of Hunting and Fishing Licenses and the discretionary purchases of Arizona\u2019s hunters and anglers. As a State agency, the Department\u2019s budget is subject to the oversight of the Executive and Legislative branches of state government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The intent of this page is to provide the public with current information concerning congressional and state legislation that has potential consequence to the Department\u2019s ability to manage the state\u2019s wildlife and wildlife resources.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Arizona Game and Fish Department’s funds are appropriated through the state budget process, beginning with the Fiscal Year 2025 request to the Governor’s office. The Department is committed to maintaining and enhancing wildlife and outdoor recreation opportunities by maximizing available funding, protecting existing resources and operating efficiently.<\/p>\n\n \n
